The Effect:
The magician has a deck of cards, and a spectator selects one, for example, the Five of Hearts.
The card is returned to the deck, which is then placed on the table. The magician claims he doesn’t know the chosen card but insists his cards are "trained." He asks the spectator to name their card and snaps his fingers.
The deck is spread out, and among all the face-down cards, one card is face-up—the chosen Five of Hearts!
Alright... let’s do it again, now that you know what to look for.
The Five of Hearts is placed face-down on the deck, and this time, the spectator cuts the deck. They snap their own fingers!
The magician picks up the deck, flips the entire deck face-up, and spreads the cards. Once again, only one card is face-down. The spectators can clearly see that all the cards are different, and the Five of Hearts is nowhere to be seen!
When the spectator pulls out the face-down card and flips it over—it’s the Five of Hearts!
Okay… one last time:
The magician spreads the deck. All the cards are as they should be. The chosen card is placed somewhere in the deck. Another snap of the fingers.
The magician now deals all the cards face-up onto the table. The Five of Hearts does not appear—until one single face-down card remains.
The rest of the deck is dealt—no Five of Hearts in sight.
The only face-down card is... the Five of Hearts.
